Stonerside Forward Gal

The Forward Gal Stakes is an American Thoroughbred horse race run at Gulfstream Park each year. The Grade II event is open to fillies, age three, willing to race seven furlongs on the dirt and carries a purse of $150,000.

This race is considered a prep for the Kentucky Oaks.

The race (in its 28th running in 2008) is named for Forward Gal, the American Champion Two-Year-Old Filly of 1970.
