Golden Doc A Shipping To Keeneland

GOLDEN DOC A (Unusual Heat), winner of the Las Virgenes S. (G1) and runner-up in the Santa Anita Oaks (G1), is scheduled to travel from California to Kentucky on Wednesday in advance of a start in the April 10 Beaumont S. (G2) at Keeneland, which will be used as a stepping stone to the May 2 Kentucky Oaks (G1), according to trainer Barry Abrams. Golden Doc A, who will put in one final work at Santa Anita on Tuesday, will be ridden in the Beaumont by Rafael Bejarano, provided he is sufficiently recovered from two cracked vertebra.

"She loved Del Mar's Polytrack," said Abrams of Golden Doc A, who captured the Generous Portion S. at the seaside track last summer. "Hopefully, they'll have the same surface and she'll continue her success."

Golden Doc A will represent Abrams' first starter at the Lexington, Kentucky, course.
