Wagering on Stonerside Stable’s Tizaqueena in Pool 2 of Churchill Downs’ 2008 Kentucky Oaks Future Wager was suspended Friday afternoon when track officials received word that the filly was out of training and would miss the 134th running of the $500,000-added Kentucky Oaks (Grade I) on May 2.

Trainer Michael Stidham confirmed by telephone on Friday that the homebred daughter of Tiznow, who was #22 in Pool 2 of the Kentucky Oaks Future Wager, was definitely out of the Kentucky Oaks picture. He said the runner-up in the Tiffany Lass Stakes at Fair Grounds was getting rest at Stonerside Farm. She stood at odds of 99-1 in Pool 2 when wagering on the filly was suspended on Friday.

“She’ll probably be out 60 to 90 days,” said Stidham. “It’s just bad timing.”

Tizaqueena scored an impressive win in her career debut on Dec. 2 at Fair Grounds before her runner-up finish to Jolie the Cat in the Tiffany Lass, her most recent start. She has earned $43,400 in her brief racing career.

There are no scratches in the Kentucky Oaks Future Wager, but official rules for the wager call for wagering to be suspended when it is determined that illness, injury or another concern would prevent a wagering interest from participating in the mile and an eighth race for 3-year-old fillies.

The suspension of wagering on Tizaqueena (#22) leaves 23 wagering interests in Pool 2 of the Kentucky Oaks Future Wager. Betting in the pool is scheduled to conclude on Sunday, March 9 at 6:30 p.m. (Eastern).
