Seven Entered In Forward Gal

BSHARPSONATA (Pulpit) made her three-year-old debut a sharp 1 1/2-length score in the Tropical Park Oaks on New Year's Day, and she'll enter Saturday's $150,000 Forward Gal S. (G2) at Gulfstream Park as the 120-pound topweight off that victory.

The Tim Salzman-trained bay captured her maiden debut, but she was no factor in her next two starts while continuing to sprint, which could be an issue in Saturday's seven-furlong test. Stretched out to a mile in the Irish Sonnet S., Bsharpsonata rebounded in a big way, scoring by seven lengths, then just missed in her turf debut when fourth in the Epitome Breeders' Cup S. Since then, Bsharpsonata has been victorious in the 8 1/2-furlong Selima S. and the Tropical Park Oaks, and she'll have regular rider Eric Camachio in the irons for the main-track Forward Gal.

Bsharpsonata will likely vie for favoritism with the undefeated KEEP THE PEACE (Touch Gold). The chestnut lass broke her maiden by 4 1/2 front-running lengths at Churchill last November, then made her sophomore bow a dominating seven-length decision in an allowance at Gulfstream Park on January 4. She'll be making her stakes debut off that one in this spot and will keep Edgar Prado in the saddle.

Other contenders include COZY MESA (Sky Mesa) and MELISSA JO (Fusaichi Pegasus), who finished fourth and second, respectively, in the Old Hat S. (G2) most recently. The latter miss will be getting Lasix for the first time here, which can only improve her chances under Kent Desormeaux.

Keep the Peace will lead the post parade under a 116-pound impost. Next in line will be Cozy Mesa, Cornelio Velasquez, 118; Bsharpsonata; SENSATIONAL LOVE (War Chant), Eddie Castro, 116; Melissa Jo, 116; CAPE COD LADY (Yonaguska), Eduardo Nunez, 116; and MORAKAMI (Fusaichi Pegasus), Javier Castellano, 116.
