Trainer: Bob Holthus

Holthus, a Nebraska native, has been training horses for more than a half century. He is the all-time winningest trainer at Oaklawn, taking numerous training titles there. In 2000, he was inducted to the Arkansas Hall of Fame. Also won training titles at Arlington, Ellis Park, and Hawthorne. He has started four horses in the Derby: Our Trade Winds (13th in 1972); Proper Reality (4th in '88); Pro Prado (13th in '04); and Greater Good (13th in '05). Bob and his wife Bonnie split their time on their Kilkerry Farm just west of Hot Springs at Royal, Arkansas and in Louisville.
Jockey: Edgar Prado

Edgar Prado is a native of Lima, Peru and hails from a racing family - his father is a trainer and two of his eight brothers are jockeys. He dominated the Maryland racing scene for years with multiple riding titles at both Laurel and Pimlico, but in the summer of 1999 decided to shift his tack to New York. He won 1,000 races over a two-year span in 1997-1998, to join Chris McCarron and Kent Desormeaux as the only riders to accomplish that feat and led the nation in wins with 536 in '97, 474 in '98, and 402 in '99. He was second nationally in earnings in 2005, when his mounts won over $18 million for the second consecutive year. He also won 299 race in 2005, finishing in seventh nationally while winning at a 20% clip. Prado won the Kentucky Oaks in 2003 on Bird Town and the Belmont twice: Birdstone (2004) and Sarava (2002). He has ridden in the past eight Derbies, with a win aboard Barbaro in 2006.
Owner: IEAH Stables

IEAH Stables is the racing subsidiary of International Equine Acquisitions Holdings, owned by Michael Iavarone and Richard J. Schiavo, both New York residents. Iavarone worked as an investment banker on Wall Street before forming IEAH, and Schiavo worked in the financial services industry. No stranger to Churchill Downs, IEAH saddled Wonder Lady Annie L to a fourth place finish in the 2006 Kentucky Oaks. The racing entity's biggest stakes win to date came in last year's Breeders' Cup Mile with notable turf horse Kip Deville, an Oklahoma bred. IEAH owns over 75 horses and has over 50 in training, with Richard Dutrow as the stable's marquee trainer. In 2008 they purchased an undisclosed interest in Kentucky Derby hopeful Court Vision, who will now race in the stable's colors, as well as Kentucky Oaks hopeful Pure Clan.
Breeder: Lewis G. Lakin

Lewis Lakin was born on August 16, 1934. He has a wife, Brenda, and four children. He owns and operates Lakin General, a rubber and tire recycling company based in Chicago. Lakin and Becky Thomas joined together in a pinhooking venture in the early 90's and today are partners in two operations which stands notable stallions Read the Footnotes, Closing Argument and Bwana Charlie. They owned one-time Kentucky Derby hopeful City Zip and have bred such notable runners as Capeside Lady, Behaving Badly, Fleet Indian and Healthy Addiction. Lakin finished 13th and 17th in the 2005 Kentucky Derby with Greater Good and Sort It Out.
