It's Deja Vu All Over Again
The best three year old filly in the country could very well be the best three year old period .
Last year all the talk was about the sensational Rags to Riches. Record has gone on to show that the hype was well worth it with her emphatic victory in the Kentucky Oaks followed up by her gutsy win over probable Horse of the Year Curlin in the Belmont stakes.
Here we are at the beginning of 2008 and again we have a three year old filly in Country Star who has all the trappings of potential super star. She has a strong pedigree backed up by a powerful build for a girl and of course she has been eye catching in her victories on the racetrack.
Do you follow Rags to Riches and go for what looks to be , barring any setbacks , a sure win in the most prestigious race in the world for fillies, the Kentucky Oaks ? Or do you aim even higher and tackle the boys in the Kentucky Derby ? It's a long way between now and then , but we can still ponder the possibilities.
