The U.A.E. Derby (Grade 2) was created as what Godolphin hoped would be the most important and prestigious Kentucky Derby prep race held outside of the United States. This year Godolphin is hoping it can launch their highly prized 3-year-old filly Folk to success in the Kentucky Oaks.
As one of four Godolphin representatives in the UAE Derby, Folk is by far the most likely to be using that race as a prep for action in Lousiville on the 1st weekend in May.
Since Folk has done everything possible this winter against her own sex in Dubai, she will be given an opportunity against males in the UAE Derby on the World Cup undercard.
