The Herecomesthebride Stakes

Saturday, March 24, 2007

The 22nd running of The Grade III Herecomesthebride Stakes promises to an interesting event even through it's unlikely any of these eight contestants are headed to Louisville to race in the May 4 Kentucky Oaks.

Here are the runners from the rail out.

NASEEM (POINT GIVEN): Removes the blinkers while returning to the turf.

MY GOLDEN QUEST (CORONADO'S QUEST): Tries the turf following a steady diet of main track races. Her dam was successful on grass and is a sister to four other turf winners. Intriguing prospect.

SHARP SUSAN (TOUCH GOLD): Overcame traffic problems to register a game victory in her most recent. She'll receive the acid test today.

PERFECT MOTION (WILD EVENT): Consistent filly has yet to finish out of the money in her five previous starts. She'll do some damage in this spot.

NALANDA (THUNDER GULCH): Homebred filly faces her most difficult task to date.

DANTRELLE LIGHT (COLONY LIGHT): Picks up a huge rider change today. Not impossible.

SNOW CONE (CRYPTOCLEARANCE): Calder based filly makes her Hallandale Beach debut this afternoon. Will need a career best effort.

COMMUNIQUE (SMART STRIKE): Late striding lass continues to improve. I think she's a star in the making!

You will see some of these in high-profile events down the road!
