$54 Of Fun

Friday, May 04, 2007

I really, really hate using the ALL button when playing a Pick 4. But when just about the entire field has a shot, and when the pool is a guaranteed $500,000, I'm buying the race.

I know it's totally gutless. I can't argue with you. But I'm doing it anyway. I have managed to keep the cost under $100, which was my goal. Here we go...

Leg 1 (Race 7- The Aegon Turf Sprint)

All (9 horses)

Leg 2 (Race 8- The Louisville Breeders' Cup)

4-Indian Vale, 5- Fiery Pursuit, 6- Delicate Dynamite

Leg 3 (Race 9- The Crown Royal American Turf)

7-Top Cross, 9-Distorted Reality

Leg 4 (Race 10-The Kentucky Oaks)

5-Cotton Blossom

So, that's ALL (with) 4, 5, 6 (with) 7, 9 (with) 5. It's a Pletcher-heavy Pick 4.

9x3x2x1=$54

Both Fiery Pursuit and Delicate Dynamite have run well on an off track. I like the Pletcher horses in Leg 3 based on their ability to close fast. And Cotton Blossom will offer good value. I have to try to beat Rags To Riches.

So much for that.

I hope some of you played this Pick 4 ticket. First of all, the cost was only $48 because we had a late scratch in the 1st leg. Second, an 11-1 shot just won the 2nd leg.

2 for 2.
