Folk is good but...

Thursday, March 15, 2007

While the boys haven't shown much ability in Dubai this winter, three-year-old filly Folk has flashed serious talent in taking a pair of stakes events after shipping over from the U.S.

Folk broke her maiden at Aqueduct by more than 10 lengths before heading to the Middle East.  Currently trained by Ismail Mohammed, the runaway leader at the Dubai Carnival, Folk's next start is undecided but connections would appear to have a choice between tackling males in the UAE Derby or coming to the U.S. for a Kentucky Oaks prep.

But while yours truly was out at Santa Anita last weekend, I was able to see Rags to Riches in the flesh.  She was absolutely gorgeous in the walking ring and looked even better out on the track when crushing her overmatched competition.

As of this writing, the Kentucky Oaks is all about Rags to Riches.
