Daytime Promise Heads Aqueduct's Busher
By: Josh Abner

  • Flint Could Reach Milestone In Turfway's Valdale

EAST/DAYTIME PROMISE BIDS FOR BUSHER - Darlene Bilinski and Harry Patten's Daytime Promise, winner of the Aqueduct's Busanda Stakes last time out, heads field of seven 3-year-old fillies in Sunday's $65,000 Busher Stakes.

Norberto Arroyo, Jr. will be back in the irons aboard the Gary Contessa-trained daughter of Five Star Day. The race will be run at 1 1/16 miles over Aqueduct's inner track.

The major challenger to Daytime Promise may be Busanda runner-up Last Romance, who finished 1 ¼-lengths behind the winner in that mile and 70-yard race.

MIDWEST/FLINT COULD EARN MILESTONE IN TURFWAY'S VALDALE - It will be no major surprise if veteran trainer Bernie Flint wins Saturday's $50,000 Valdale Stakes at Turfway Park with morning line favorite Seen Dancing, but a victory in that race could be one of Flint's most notable.

Flint will enter Saturday's racing one victory shy of 3,000 career wins and Seen Dancing could earn that milestone win for her trainer. Dan White's bay daughter of Souvenir Copy already has a win in the Gowell over Turfway's Polytrack surface. She was fifth last time out to Baghdaria in the Fair Grounds' Silverbulletday and will be ridden by jockey Rodney Prescott.

Other contenders in the one-mile Valdale include the Patrick Biancone-trained Unbridled Tale, third in the Gowell, and Delicate Dynamite, runner-up in the Kentucky Cup Juvenile Fillies for trainer Daniel "Speedy" Smithwick.
