HOUSE OF FORTUNE - Arnold Zetcher LLC's California-bred daughter of Free House showed promise at two with a string of strong races against state-bred company that included a victory in the California Cup Juvenile Fillies. She then ran well in opening company against the likes of Hollywood Story and Yearly Report, but blossomed into a star for trainer Ron McAnally with a 17-length romp in the California Oaks at Golden Gate Fields and a victory in the Fantasy at Oaklawn Park. The Kentucky-born McAnally, a member of racing's Hall of Fame, will be looking for his first victory in the Oaks. House of Fortune is ridden by Shane Sellers, who has returned from a career-threatening knee injury to again rank among America's top jockeys. Sellers is looking also for his first win in the Oaks. |

House of Fortune is from the first crop of the California bred Free House, who was twice voted horse of the year and champion older male in his home state. On the racetrack, Free House consistently competed against the top horses of his generation (such as Silver Charm, Deputy Commander, Touch Gold, Event of the Year, and Gentlemen) while winning the Norfolk (G2), the Santa Anita Derby (G1), the Swaps (G2), the Pacific Classic (G1), and the Santa Anita Handicap (G1), as well as placing in several other graded stakes. He completed his race career with a 9-5-3 record from 22 starts, with earnings of over $3.1 million. House of Fortune is his lone stakes winner from his first crop. House of Fortune is out of the unraced mare So Fortunate, dam of two other foals to race, both being multiple race winners. She is a half sister to two stakes winners: Altazarr, winner of the Hollywood Juvenile Championship Stakes (G2) and finished third Hollywood Prevue Breeders' Cup Stakes (G3); and Rayelle, winner of the restriced Hidden Light Stakes.
